Information we collect
We may collect names, email addresses, company and billing details, order and invoice information, learner account data, course activity, progress, assessment attempts and scores, certificate details, support communications, consent records, authentication and security logs. Stripe processes payment-card information; Dangerousgoods.ie does not store complete card details.
Why and on what legal basis
- Contract: bookings, payment administration, access, learning, assessment, certificates and learner support.
- Legal obligation: accounting, tax, regulatory and lawful recordkeeping requirements.
- Legitimate interests: service security, fraud prevention, audit trails, business administration and improvement, balanced against individual rights.
- Consent: optional marketing or non-essential cookies, if introduced. Consent can be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Who receives information
Information may be shared only as needed with service providers supporting hosting, database infrastructure, secure payments, transactional email and technical operations, including Vercel, Supabase, Stripe and Resend; with a sponsoring employer for appropriate booking, progress and completion reporting; and with regulators, professional advisers or public authorities where lawfully required.
International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we rely on an applicable adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism and apply appropriate security measures.
Retention
We retain order, invoice and accounting records for the period required by Irish tax and company law, generally six years after the relevant accounting period. Core training, assessment and certificate records are normally retained for at least 36 months and may be kept longer where a regulatory, contractual or certification requirement applies. Routine support communications are normally reviewed for deletion after 24 months. Password-reset links expire after 60 minutes and expired reset records are periodically removed.
Your rights
Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability. You may also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie. Contact us first if you would like us to address a concern.
Security and automated decisions
We use access controls, password hashing, signed payment webhooks and other proportionate measures. No decision producing legal or similarly significant effects is made solely by automated processing. Automated quiz marking determines course progress under published rules and can be reviewed where a technical or administrative error is reported.
Updates
We review this notice when systems, providers or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the published version.
